Sarah Macklin
Sarah is an MSc student studying Immunology at St. Annes college. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Sarah loves to participate in classically Canadian activities such as ice hockey, camping, skiing and hating the Leafs. Sarah is hoping to bring together a great group of people who can connect over our shared love for Canada! She is really excited to see what the year has in store for the resurgence of the Canadian Society here at Oxford!

Kathryn Condon
Kathryn is reading for a DPhil in Geography and the Environment at the school of geography. She is a Frederic Bastiat Fellow at the Mercatus Ceter, George Mason University. Kathryn holds an MSc in Water Science, Policy & Management from the University of Oxford and a BA in Ethics, Society & Law, Environmental Studies & Environmental Ethics from Trinity College, University of Toronto. Kathryn enjoys sailing, golfing and playing tennis in her free time.

Amir Pichhadze
From Toronto, Dr. Amir Pichhadze is currently studying for the MSc in Eduction at the University of Oxford. He is an alumnus of the University of Michigan Law School and the London School of Economics. Amir was a full-time lecturer at Deakin Law School. Amir is also a visual artist. He was exposed to the visual arts by his father, the master artist Jacob Pichhadze. He also studied art history and theory at York University's Faculty of Fine Arts.

Ava Harrison
Ava is currently an MSc in Clinical Embryology candidate at Lady Margaret Hall and received a BScH (Honours) from McMaster University. A dual citizen of Canada and UK, Ava grew up as an expat in Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong before settling in Oakville, Ontario. She loves skiing, hiking in Banff, swimming in Lake Huron and listening to bands from the True North: The Arkells, the Glorious Sons, and Valley. Ava is ecstatic to be a part of the OUCSS team!

Edie Guo
Edie is an MSc in Clinical Embryology student. As a Hughsie, she loves chasing after squirrels and the two college cats. This love of nature is reminiscent of her childhood on the West Coast of Canada, where she spent time digging sand dollars and building snow forts. Prior to coming to Oxford Edie studied at the University of Toronto. She is excited to bring together the wonderful Canadian student community at Oxford with a fun year of socializing and fantastic events.

Alek Ebbeling
Alek was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and completed his undergraduate degree in Montreal. he is currently studying for an MSc in Neuroscience at St Peter's College. As a Canadian, he naturally enjoys cheering on the Toronto Raptors and Tim Hortons Iced Capps.

Helen Kosc
Helen is currently enrolled in the MSc in Sociology at the University of Oxford and is a member of Jesus College. Helen's dissertation will be an ethnography of the experience of inmates released during the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, as co-president of OUCSS, Helen hopes to create a sense of community and connection between the Canadian students at Oxford - something incredibly important during these isolating circumstances.

Sumaiya Tasnim Zahoor
Sumaiya is a candidate for the MSc in Comparative Social Policy with teh Department of Social Policy and Intervention. She is a proud member of Green Templeton College! Sumaiya completed her BA in Public Policy (co-op) and English Literature from the University of Toronto. She is a Bangladeshi-Canadian who calls Pickering, Ontario home. In her free time, she likes to either binge-watch shows on Netflix, looking at cute dog videos, kayaking, or painting!

Jeremy Stroud
Hi everyone, I'm Jeremy From Toronto! I am studying water science, policy & management at Worcester college. I completed my undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax, in international food business. I have loved it here so far and want to contribute to the experience of other Canadians. I love skiing, basketball, hiking, running, as well as anything to do with agriculture, finance, technology and water management.

Sarah Bowers
Sarah is an MSc student studying immunology as a member of Linacre College. She has a particular interest in inflammation and rheumatic disease. From Squamish, BC, Sarah developed a love for skiing, hiking, and running and dancing ballet! She enjoys sharing her passion for science through participating in outreach events for kids and their families. She looks forward to working with the OUCSS to ensure values relating to diversity&inclusion are being upheld.

Paula Larson
Paula is a DPhil student in Medical History at New College. She is originally from Calgary, Alberta and has been with the Canadian Society since it was founded in 2015. She currently runs Uncomfortable Oxford and is an avid writer, and loves board games, fencing and travelling.

Hello, my name is Jaewon and I will be the Undergraduate representative for this year. I am from Vancouver and am currently studying engineering at Balliol. Some of my hobbies include ice hockey and travelling. As I see that the situation can only get better in the coming year, I really look forward to being a part of the society and meeting other Canadians!
